Approximately one thousand people attended the Tangaroa Hall, a place with a maximum capacity of 1200 seats, to watch the ska rock group Jota Quest from Minas Gerais on July 27. At 11:00pm, one hour and a half before the scheduled time for the start of the show, the atmosphere was already partially taken. Vip and common crowd divided by tapestry of amateur structure accommodated the gifts that were arriving there.

Here is a first discomfort. According to Change Music Produtora Editora e Gravadora, organizer of the event, the occasion would serve to host an acoustic concert of Jota Quest. However, the organization of Tangaroa Hall did not provide an adequate ambiance, leaving all the audience that was formed standing up, taking, at a certain point, the intimate tone expected. With this layout, the venue offered, to open the night, ambient music commanded by a DJ. The professional, in turn, created a playlist that did not agree with the genre of the main band. Metal, hard rock and alternative rock dominated the track until approximately 11:30p.m., when he took to the stage Engrennagem, the opening band.

Presenting a blend of their own songs and covers, the rock group from Ubatuba (SP), with a strong sound influence in the hardcore band from Santos, Charlie Brown Jr., was unhappy in its performance. Not because the performances were incorrect or something like that, but because of the sound quality. With the microphone echoing, the wrong equalization and volume above the understandable, the Engrennagem's show, unfortunately, didn't even serve to warm up the audience and get to know the band's authorial work, which left the stage without applause.

Pause. Holdings running from one side to the other disassembling the Engrennagem instruments and organizing the stage for the arrival of Jota Quest, who by that time was already slightly late.

Exactly 34 minutes late, at 01h04 of 28/07, Jota Quest took to the stage, starting the Taubatean leg of Músicas Para Cantar Junto, the group's 25th anniversary commemorative tour. Dias Melhores, Oxigênio’s music, the band's third album, was responsible for opening the presentation.

Positioning himself on a bench in the center of the stage, vocalist Rogério Flausino began to create that already expected and discredited intimate tone. Shy at first, Flausino limited himself to interact with the audience, releasing some cliché phrases: "Better days forever, Taubaté", said by him during the performance of the opening song is an example.

O Que Eu Também Não Entendo, despite being the second song to be performed, achieved an interesting feat: it gave encouragement and energy to the audience that already seemed exhausted. With this dose of incentive, Tangaroa Hall began to feel the audience's participation gradually appear.

More agitated than the previous ones, Encontrar Alguém takes Flausino off the bench to enjoy more of the stage space. Following the movement of the frontman, it was possible to identify certain flaws. Paulinho Fonseca, drummer, was equipped with his instrument complete with cymbals, box, bass drum and tones. For an acoustic concert, the musician should perform with something more intimate, like a cajón, for example.

Back in his chair, Rogério Flausino began to sing Amor Maior, a song that was part of the 2003 MTV Ao Vivo album. When the audience realized the song, they screamed and sang all the lyrics, from beginning to end. In Quando Se Lembar de Mim, the accent is retired once and for all by the singer, who claps his hands and points randomly in the crowd to cheer up the audience.

After the audience went into apparent delirium at the execution of Na Moral, Jota Quest presented a surprise to the Taubatean public. Made for the tour, Morrer de Amor, music composed by the band in the company of Alexandre Carlo Cruz Pereira, Natiruts' vocalist, was played first hand.
Three songs later, a moment arrived that Jota Quest found pertinent to further land the audience's attention. "This is the first acoustic song of the band. It's 20 years old," said Rogério Flausino standing in the microphone pulling the intro from Fácil. In the same direction, the vocalist tells another curiosity before proceeding with the show. "This is the first song that Jota recorded," said Flausino, bringing up As Dores do Mundo.

If the first song recorded in the band's career was played before, the song that followed was Você Precisa de Alguém, also made for the tour, but with the company of Marcelo Falcão, singer of O Rappa.

With De Volta ao Planeta medley and the Sociedade Alternativa cover, Jota Quest reached its peak, creating a contagious energy in the entire audience, which jumped and sang during the double performance. On the occasion, Pedro Cassini, guitarist hired for the tour, and Marco Túlio Lara, guitarist of the group, deserved the congratulations for the quality of the sound created.

In Blecaute, music made in the company of Anitta and the producer Nile Rodrigues, it was the bassist PJ who stood out, creating a swinging atmosphere with memories of American funk.

Finally, the encore has arrived. The melodic and nostalgic Só Hoje brought the protagonism of the keyboardist Marcio Buzelin and was responsible for starting a farewell that promised and was confirmed to be interactive. Rogério Flausino and company had the massive participation of the audience during the four-minute performance of the track.

Do Seu Lado, a cover by Nando Reis, closed the night. With the energetic atmosphere, felt from the stage to the audience, jumps, singing, cell phones and head shuttles were observed. All at the same time. The backing vocals hired to accompany Jota Quest during the Músicas Para Cantar Junto tour couldn't even be heard so loudly that the choir was there.

This positive energy was the best way to close a show that, despite a good performance resulting from the sound quality brought by the musicians, presented errors that need to be mentioned. The first, as previously mentioned, was not offering chairs so that the audience could better accommodate. The second is that the concert, mostly, did not present characteristics of an acoustic performance, full drums, the presence of two members acting as guitarists and a keyboardist. In other words, the sound scope did not create an intimate atmosphere, even though, emphasizing, it did a beautiful job.
